The top of the ring displays a deep black onyx and gold. On the rectangular onyx stone is carved an SMW emblem. Along its side of the gold is an oak leaf base, six acorns representing the college’s founders, and the class year. The oak represents strength, knowledge and durability of character.

Ring Eligibility-Undergraduate Students (Campus and Woods Online)

• You must be enrolled in your 90^th or more credit hours in January to purchase your Woods ring and participate in the Ring Ceremony.
• You must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher to receive your Woods ring in March 2026.
• If you are a transfer student, you must be enrolled in your 90^th or more credit hours in January to purchase your Woods ring and participate in the Ring Ceremony.

Ring Eligibility-Graduate Students

• You must have 75% of your program’s total course work completed, or in progress, to participate in the March 2026 Ring Ceremony.
• You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive your Woods Ring.
